About Baghdad
Baghdad, founded in 762 AD by the Abbasid Caliph Al-Mansur, was once the largest city in the world and the center of the Islamic Golden Age. Known as the 'Round City of Peace,' it served as the capital of the Abbasid Caliphate for over 500 years. The city was home to the famous House of Wisdom, where scholars from around the world gathered to translate and preserve ancient texts.
